The Department of Atmospheric Sciences is dedicated to advancing our scientific understanding of the atmosphere and imparting that knowledge for the benefit of society. Our research efforts serve two purposes: to expand the frontiers of atmospheric science, and to give students experience and training in conducting research. The knowledge gained from research may be fundamental or applicable to a particular societal need. As a department, we seek to maintain the highest standards of excellence in the research we perform.
