Volume 20 Number 7.1                                                                    January through June 2007

The first half of 2007 saw plentiful rainfall totals throughout most of Texas, with only Corpus Christi and Port Arthur experiencing slightly less than normal rainfall. Several received well over 150% of their normal precipitation, with a few even more than doubling their average precipitation for the first half of the year. A significant portion of precipitation occurred in June, keeping temperatures on the cooler side.

Temperatures throughout the state were slightly cooler on average than a normal year, except in East Texas where temperatures ran slightly higher than normal. It is to be noted that only two average maximum temperatures were higher than average, but 16 stations averaged higher minimum temperatures than normal.
